Casa del Sol is the Spanish expression for "House of the sun" and definitely is a proper synonym for what you can experience
while staying here. The California-style house, the bright and airy guest suites, the warm hospitality and the fabulous
views all express the sunny ambience which is omnipresent at Casa del Sol.
When arriving at Casa del Sol Bed & Breakfast and Bale in Westbank, British Columbia I caught myself slipping out a "Whow" when first facing the stunning view of Lake Okanagan. |

I had made a reservation for the Jacuzzi-Suite and was keen to see where I would stay this night. The door was opened by Reinhard, who runs Casa del Sol together with his wife Ute, as I learned later. |

| Alone in the suite I first opened the French doors leading to the veranda from where I could enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Okanagan and the city of Westbank. The bright shining sun invited me to try the outdoor pool and I decided for a relaxing afternoon with sunbathing. The swim was as refreshing as I had imagined but I was really stunned by the awesome panorama view which I experienced swimming the pool. It appeared as if you were swimming right beside the lake and the quietness let you feel like being in paradise. After taking a good sunbathe I returned to my suite, which has a separate entrance accessible through the veranda. |

| I relaxed a while lying on a comfortable queen size bed waiting for the special dinner night to take place. The suite itself is very spacious giving a traveling couple plenty of room for a special get-away. For entertainment you will find satellite TV with plenty programs to choose from. Getting hungry I figured it would be a good time for picking my personal breakfast choice for the next morning, as Casa del Sol serves you a breakfast according to your favorites. What a great idea! | ||

Tonight's theme of the special dinner night would be the Italian cuisine and I went to the dining room, hungry as I was. Also the dining room reflects the modern atmosphere of Casa del Sol, with cute dining tables, bar, waterfall, fireplace and last but not least due to the wide and tall windows, which allow you an incredible view of Lake Okanagan. The served lasagne with mixed salad and garlic bread was truly a culinary pleasure. |
| After dinner I socialized with Ute and Reinhard and learned that both have a German background and a tremendous knowledge about horses. As the name Bed & Breakfast and Bale states, you can bring your own horses, which will be fed with water and hey cubes during your stay. |

| You can take advantage of Reinhard's broad comprehension of cigars which can be purchased in the little gift shop of Casa del Sol. Literature about horses and cigars can be found in the library. |

Later the evening I thought it would be really enjoyable spending a relaxing time in the jacuzzi. The provided bath-salts,
the wonderful night view out of the bath tub and the robe with embroidered logo made it truly pleasant. A movie out of the
wide collection of TV channels made me ready to sleep.
First thing the next morning was opening the French doors to enjoy the morning sun and to memorize the wonderful panorama. |

A nice smell of fresh coffee reached my nose and I felt hungry instantly remembering last night's menu. The breakfast was
ready to be served, when I left my suite. The breakfast itself is difficult to put in words as it was not only a culinary
favor, but a feast for the eyes.
Unfortunately after breakfast it was time for me to leave. Casa del Sol by all means is a house of the sun and it would be difficult to find a more precise name for it. I came as a stranger and was treated like a friend - truly a stay to remember, which I would recommend to anybody. Thanks again to Ute and Reinhard.
